World-Class Arts... But no worthy venue

Our area is home to organizations creating world-class theatre, music, dance, and visual art. Yet our city, the County seat, does not have a single acceptable facility which can accommodate the range of needs of the performing arts groups, or the audience demand. Working and gallery space for our visual artists is also in lamentably short supply.

The Center for the Arts will open the door to ALL community arts organizations enabling them to pursue their crafts in a vastly improved cultural environment.

Opportunities For Our Youth

The County's nonprofit arts organizations sponsor outreach programs directed to our young people, including the 'at risk' and the underserved.

The Center for the Arts will provide the infrastructure for the growth of these programs. Space for educational workshops, cultural laboratories for cutting edge arts instruction, expanded opportunities for youth performances.

The Center for the Arts will change the area's cultural profile for decades to come as children who have benefited from its programs grow to become community leaders, contributing citizens, and the arts patrons of the future.
